The Introduction

There are two things in this world that can make me talk for hours. Those two things are politics and sports. If you think about it, those two things have more in common than one might think. In both, there is an emphasis on winning (i.e. Elections, Super Bowls), but wouldn’t you know, there always seems to be a hiccup or too along the way. If you don’t believe me, you might want to hurry and ask people like Rod Blagojevich or Plaxico Burress. They’ll tell you that living a high-profile life isn’t exactly easy.
I talk about this stuff all of the time. My friend Jenna tells me that I need to “shut up, or talk about something else”. What would I talk about though? My love for these two things is why I decided to become a communications major. Sitting in an office crunching numbers every day would be the last thing I’d wish to do with my life. That kind of work is for some people, but just not me.
One day, I’d cherish the opportunity to get to interview such high profile figures as these politicians and athletes. That’s why I currently take part in a program called Sportszone on American University Television (ATV), and hopefully other programs will follow. Only with experience and practice can my dreams actually take shape.
This blog should have many positive consequences. It will allow me to talk about many issues that the media have touched upon recently. Hopefully, I will be able to add a unique perspective that will make people wish to read more of the blog. The more exposure that can be generated will help make the blog successful in the long run. In the end, the only hope is that people will enjoy reading what’s written.
